Harold Pinter

My literature class was assigned to do research on Harold Pinter during the September holidays as we will be starting on the play, The Birthday Party by Harold Pinter, which is coming out for the exam. The class had a discussion some time later and this was what we manage to conceive.

Writing Style

–          Ambivalent characters

–          conflicts→ territory

–          no specific main characters

–          all characters have their own problem

–          the use of silence

Genre

–          comedy of menace

–          irony

–          psychological drama

–          absurdist theatre
